Semi-automatic stencil printer "Buran" B073 is designed for the application of solder paste on PCBs and has been designed primarily for experienced, small-scale and multiproduct manufacturing. Printer design provides quick changeover from one product to another, and also shows high speed, which can be further enhanced by installing additional options.

The printer has the original patented design and consists of a table with the electric drive and the print unit which includes a mechanism for mounting of stencil frame, the squeegee system with electric drive and pneumatic squeegee knives.

The printing process is as follows. The stencil, stretched on a special frame is installed in the printer, knives are fixed, solder paste is applied. Printing unit moves into the back position, releasing space for PCB installation. The PCB is placed on the table, clamped, positioned, other processes occur automatically. Printing unit moves into the front position, the table with PCB rises in the printing position, knives become pressure and the squeegee with the set speed makes breakdown of soldering paste through the stencil. Then, the table with PCB is lowered at a predetermined speed, and the print unit returns to the back position to make room for the extraction of PCB and install of a new one.

PCB clamp is carried out by means of pneumatic system. The printer allows to adjust the clamping force of PCB. Such control is made by means of the special handle regulator supplied with the manometer for control of PCB clamping. Optionally the printer can be equipped with the automatic regulator of clamping force. In this case, the clamping force is stored in the print profile.

The printer has universal adjustable system of stencil adjustment. The stencil frame is fixed in special guides. Moving guides it is possible to arrange them under stencils of various size. The standard printer supports the following sizes of stencil frames 300x300 mm 600x600 mm. Production of the printer for wider stencil frames is possible.

Stencil fixing is carried out by means of mechanical clips. The option of pneumatic stencil fixing and stencil width is possible.

The adjustment of PCB with the stencil can be carried in different ways, depending on the configuration of the printer. In basic option such adjustment is carried out by means of optical system from two cameras. This system allows by stencil installation to remember openings which serve as fiducials, and then by means of rotation of special handles to combine platforms on PCB ith the stored image of the stencil apertures.

A distinctive design feature of the printer is that it has motorized lifting of the table. This design allows to uniform programmable disengage of PCB from the stencil after printing, adjust the gap between Board and stencil during printing, to print on the protruding elements. Besides it provides absolute "verticality" of a lift-off unlike traditional "book" versions of table printers.

Patented design retractable host printing allows to perform precise optical alignment unlike "book" options, which require you to look "through a stencil". The operator using the software "sees through the stencil", and while the stencil and the PCB, which allows to perform alignment quickly and accurately. Special program "assistant of combining" real-time tell advices what handle and which way to turn. Following the advice of the assistant, the operator can perform the alignment faster.

The printer В073 optionaly provides automatic combination of PCB and stencil. When you install this option, which includes electric fine adjustment of the table, the printer is able to perform automatic alignment of PCB and stencil, thus increasing the printing speed and usability. If you use this option, simply specify the holes in the stencil that should be taken for fiducials, then all action, bringing the card with the stencil automatically. Technology of retractable knot print will allow you to perform precise alignment, starting with the very first board, unlike semi-automatic printers require a cycle of test printing.

The 2D inspection of the soldering paste can be set on this printer. It includes the camera with electric drive and special software. In this case, the printer after the printing is able to inspect the quality of solder paste. This automatically determined the sites with the lack of pasta and places "short circuit" of pasta. These data may automatically be used by the printer to perform the cleaning of the stencil.

Also optionally the printer can be supplied with completely programmable multifunction system of the stencil cleaning. The combination of dry and wet cleaning, with use of vacuum or without, normal or with collection of paste at the end of pass is possible. The system of cleaning is supplied with the system of the count of the remained towel for cleaning with output of a signal when emptying a roll. For monitoring of the level of the cleaning liquid the sensor is provided.

The printer is equipped with the modern developed software with multimedia interface. The interface itself is entirely focused on the use of modern touch-screen technology, so using a traditional keyboard and mouse is not required. The language of the printer is user configurable. Currently available in the following languages: Russian, English and also can be realized in other languages after the request.

DIAL-Company offers stencil printers “BURAN”. These machines (manual, semiautomatic and automatic) are for the process of depositing solder paste on the printed wiring boards (PWBs) in small and high volume manufacturing.

Automatic stencil printing

The process begins with loading the stencil into the printer. The pneumatic system of stencil tension from DIAL aligns the stencil to the substrate with accuracy. It helps to avoid an unequal application of the solder paste and prevent solder-balling when the paste is deposited beyond the edge of the board. Such situation can cause a short circuit or damage of the printed wiring boards.

Then the board is loaded into the conveyor. The loading arts can differ: manual or automatic. If it’s automatic, the board will be input from the previous machine. If it’s manual, a control engineer will do it in own hand. Loading and unloading side is controlled by a special program. Such opportunity lets use stencil printers for high-, medium- and small-volume manufacturing.

When the board has aligned the stencil, the solder paste is deposited by stainless steel blades (attack angle – 65°), that are easy-to-use under the small components and don’t “pull-out” the solder paste from apertures. Both blade pressure and print-head control guarantee high quality and equal application of the solder paste. When the pressure is correctly adjusted, the stencil will be clean.

The next step is PCB separation. Speed is chosen experimentally, it depends on components setting: the more is the setting, the more is the separation speed.

At the order of 2-D inspection for stencil printers from DIAL inspection system measures the amount of paste covering the board and verifies the stencil aperture cleanness.

Semi-automatic stencil printer "Buran" B073 is designed for the application of solder paste on PCBs and has been designed primarily for experienced, small-scale and multiproduct manufacturing. Printer design provides quick changeover from one product to another, and also shows high speed, which can be further enhanced by installing additional options.

The printer has the original patented design and consists of a table with the electric drive and the print unit which includes a mechanism for mounting of stencil frame, the squeegee system with electric drive and pneumatic squeegee knives.

The printing process is as follows. The stencil, stretched on a special frame is installed in the printer, knives are fixed, solder paste is applied. Printing unit moves into the back position, releasing space for PCB installation. The PCB is placed on the table, clamped, positioned, other processes occur automatically. Printing unit moves into the front position, the table with PCB rises in the printing position, knives become pressure and the squeegee with the set speed makes breakdown of soldering paste through the stencil. Then, the table with PCB is lowered at a predetermined speed, and the print unit returns to the back position to make room for the extraction of PCB and install of a new one.

PCB clamp is carried out by means of pneumatic system. The printer allows to adjust the clamping force of PCB. Such control is made by means of the special handle regulator supplied with the manometer for control of PCB clamping. Optionally the printer can be equipped with the automatic regulator of clamping force. In this case, the clamping force is stored in the print profile.

The printer has universal adjustable system of stencil adjustment. The stencil frame is fixed in special guides. Moving guides it is possible to arrange them under stencils of various size. The standard printer supports the following sizes of stencil frames 300x300 mm 600x600 mm. Production of the printer for wider stencil frames is possible.

Stencil fixing is carried out by means of mechanical clips. The option of pneumatic stencil fixing and stencil width is possible.

The adjustment of PCB with the stencil can be carried in different ways, depending on the configuration of the printer. In basic option such adjustment is carried out by means of optical system from two cameras. This system allows by stencil installation to remember openings which serve as fiducials, and then by means of rotation of special handles to combine platforms on PCB ith the stored image of the stencil apertures.

A distinctive design feature of the printer is that it has motorized lifting of the table. This design allows to uniform programmable disengage of PCB from the stencil after printing, adjust the gap between Board and stencil during printing, to print on the protruding elements. Besides it provides absolute "verticality" of a lift-off unlike traditional "book" versions of table printers.

Patented design retractable host printing allows to perform precise optical alignment unlike "book" options, which require you to look "through a stencil". The operator using the software "sees through the stencil", and while the stencil and the PCB, which allows to perform alignment quickly and accurately. Special program "assistant of combining" real-time tell advices what handle and which way to turn. Following the advice of the assistant, the operator can perform the alignment faster.

The printer В073 optionaly provides automatic combination of PCB and stencil. When you install this option, which includes electric fine adjustment of the table, the printer is able to perform automatic alignment of PCB and stencil, thus increasing the printing speed and usability. If you use this option, simply specify the holes in the stencil that should be taken for fiducials, then all action, bringing the card with the stencil automatically. Technology of retractable knot print will allow you to perform precise alignment, starting with the very first board, unlike semi-automatic printers require a cycle of test printing.

The 2D inspection of the soldering paste can be set on this printer. It includes the camera with electric drive and special software. In this case, the printer after the printing is able to inspect the quality of solder paste. This automatically determined the sites with the lack of pasta and places "short circuit" of pasta. These data may automatically be used by the printer to perform the cleaning of the stencil.

Also optionally the printer can be supplied with completely programmable multifunction system of the stencil cleaning. The combination of dry and wet cleaning, with use of vacuum or without, normal or with collection of paste at the end of pass is possible. The system of cleaning is supplied with the system of the count of the remained towel for cleaning with output of a signal when emptying a roll. For monitoring of the level of the cleaning liquid the sensor is provided.

The main printing direction — back and forth. In this case, the printer may perform one or two passes of printing. (setting by program).

The pressure of the squeegee on the stencil are configured manually using the handle rotation control. In case of installation of an option of automatic pressure of the squeegee, the pressure is set and controlled using a computer and can be saved in the print profile.

The printer is equipped with the modern developed software with multimedia interface. The interface itself is entirely focused on the use of modern touch-screen technology, so using a traditional keyboard and mouse is not required. The language of the printer is user configurable. Currently available in the following languages: Russian, English and also can be realized in other languages after the request.

2D-inspectionThis option is intended for printing quality evaluation. Information about short circuits and quantity of solder paste on the contact pads are displayed on the printer's monitor. The defected area is indicated with the red color.

When setting this option, the printer performs an automatic alignment of PCB and stencil, increasing, thus, the printing speed and usability. When using this option is enough to indicate the holes in the stencil to be taken for the fiducials, then all the steps to align the PCB with the stencil are made automatically.

When setting this option, the printer controls the pressure level at the inlet air line and blocks printing in its insufficient level, excluding the application of poor quality.

When setting this option, fixing of stencil width and frame of stencil are performed by pneumatic cylinders controlled by a computer.

When setting this option, the clamping force is controlled by the computer and stored in the print profile.

At installation of this option the pressure of knives on PCB is set from a profile of print and stored for later use. The printer automatically establishes and maintains a predetermined pressure.
